Plot
The Weight of Us is a coming-of-age psychological drama that explores the reality of emotional abuse. When high-achieving teenager Elara enters what seems to be a loving relationship, subtle acts of manipulation gradually begin to isolate her from the people and ambitions that once defined her. As the pressure to hold everything together grows, she is forced to confront the emotional weight of a relationship that has quietly consumed her sense of self. Through an intimate and naturalistic approach, the film sheds light on the often-overlooked signs of coercive and emotionally abusive relationships, highlighting how control can exist without physical violence.
